Work with the assistant

Ask a question, let the assistant act in your dossiers and your office, keep the last word on every change.

The assistant is an agent built into Stratta, with nothing to install. It reads your office’s norms, works in your dossiers and manages the organization, with your rights and nothing more. Open it from Assistant in the menu, or with Ctrl J from any page.

Ask a question

Write as you would to a colleague:

Which partial factor applies to the resistance of a bored pile?

The assistant finds the norm that covers it, reads the clause and answers with its reference, for example [SIA 267 § 9.5.2.1, p. 63]. Click the reference: the norm opens at that clause. Each step shows while it works: the search, the clause read, the dossier opened. An Open button next to a step leads straight to that clause or dossier. Reading a norm never asks for your approval.

Formulas are typeset. Click a formula, or press Enter when it has focus, to copy its LaTeX.

The button left of the conversation title hides or shows the list of conversations, to read a long answer across the full width.

The assistant answers from your office’s norms only. A norm you have not ingested cannot be cited: it says so rather than answering from memory.

Start from a page

On a dossier, the Assistant button opens a conversation already about that dossier. In the norm reader, Ask does the same with the clause on screen. The subject shows above the input; remove it with one click when your question is about something else.

What it can do

The Tools button under the input lists everything the assistant can do, grouped by area, and says for each tool whether it reads, writes, or always asks first.

Norms

Search, read a clause with its formulas and tables, follow references.

Dossiers

Open a dossier, ask a question, file evidence, record a decision, share.

Organization

List members, invite, remove, wake a norm up or put it to sleep.

Methods

Follow the office’s procedures to draft, and update them.

The assistant acts with your role: a member cannot invite someone through it if they cannot on the Organization page.

Keep the last word

Before changing anything, the assistant shows what it is about to do, in plain words: Invite a member, the address, the role. Nothing happens until you click Allow.

  1. Allow

The action runs, and the assistant carries on.
  2. Decline

You can say why, or what to do instead. The assistant takes it into account.

  3. Write something else

Typing a new message while an approval waits declines it, with your message as the instruction.

The button next to the model sets how much it may do on its own:

  • Ask before writing (default): every change waits for you.
  • Dossiers on their own: evidence, comments and deliverable sections are written without asking.

Members, active norms, deletions, decisions, share links and site scans always ask, whatever the mode.

When it asks you

When the next step depends on a choice only you can make, the assistant asks a question with a few possible answers. Click yours, or type its number. Other opens a field to answer in your own words.

The model, and what it costs

The model name under the input opens the list. Gemini 3.8 Flash suits most questions; Claude Sonnet 5.5 or Opus 5.5 the hard ones. The dots next to each model show what an answer weighs.

Every answer counts against the month’s requests, at the model’s real cost, as do the tools it calls. A conversation’s total shows at the top right.

An owner or an admin can save the office’s OpenRouter key in the assistant’s settings (the icon at the top right). The office then pays for the model directly, only the tools count against the requests, and every OpenRouter model becomes available. The key is checked, encrypted, and never shown in full again.

What it does not do

  • It does not create API keys and does not touch the card or the plan: those pages stay yours, it points you to them.
  • It does not decide for you. A decision enters the dossier only after you allow it.
  • It can be wrong. Check every value in the cited clause before using it on a project.
